I came across Scam Alert by accident. Just out of curiosity I started reading and saw your [G.T.'s Essay] letter. I am a Ukrainian and to tell you the truth you letter sounded very humiliating to me.

I am not being naive and understand very well that there are many girls who are involved in prostitution, scam foreigners for money etc. But at the same time even though you say that you are not a cynic I am convinced that you are much more cynical than you yourself know.

As I have already mentioned I find your letter very humiliating and abusing. You sound like a person who had an unpleasant experience with a woman from Eastern Europe and decided to take a revenge on the whole female population. You really sound quite miserable.

As far as education goes...I studied for quite a long time and I know many clever and intelligent girls in Ukraine and Russia who received their degrees after long years of hard work and study. As far as I know they used their brain and not their bodies as you say. I am sure there are cases that you described in your 'essay' but they are not as numerous as you might think.

One more comment ... I cannot see anything wrong with the fact that a woman tries to look attractive. If she does not wear sneakers it does not mean that there is something wrong with her. Judging by the number of women in Western shops I can say that not only we Eastern European women are very concerned about the way we look.

Even though I feel very intimidated there is one thing in you letter I agree with. Foreign men should always measure their abilities with their desires. It is pretty stupid to dream that a beautiful young woman would stay with somebody who is much older than her. It seldom works in any culture and there is no use to complain afterwards about low morale of Russians. It would be more appropriate for them to question their own mental abilities. Stop condemning FSU women for being terrible sinners! I have several examples of how Russian women lost all rights once they married foreigners. Western men often become real dictators just because women are completely dependant on them (at least for some years at the beginning). There is no wonder that once a woman went through the process of adaptation and has more opportunities she does not want to be with a man who gives her no right to decide for herself, demanding her complete submission.

I guess my email will not have such a big persuasive effect as your letter had (and I am sure it had) on most men who visit this site, including you probably. I am just writing because I felt it was a right thing to do. I would like to make some visitors understand that not all of us, Eastern European women, are horrible monsters. Sometimes it's worth having a critical look at your own nation before starting to abuse others.
